Ex Chelsea Star Fernando Torres, Retires From Football


Former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has decided to hang his boots in football at the age of 35 in an emotional announcement made by the Spanish star.

The Spanish football star made the announcement in Japan where he has been playing for Sagan Tosu.

He tweet: “I have something very important to announce. After 18 exciting years, the time has come to put an end to my football career. Next Sunday, the 23rd at 10:00AM, local time in Japan, I will have a press conference in Tokyo to explain all the details.”

Torres scored 81 goals in 142 games for the Reds before joining Chelsea for £50 million in January 2011 and he was part of the Blues squad that won the Champions League title in 2012.
